Above the lake is a medieval castle founded in the eleventh century, and from the observation deck you can see Trigolov (2864 m), the highest mountain in the Slovenian Alps. You can get to the island by boat, the Slovenians call it “Pletnev”. By the way, Lake Bled is the only place where you can find “Pletnev”. The first boat is said to have been launched on the lake in the 16th century, and its appearance has remained virtually unchanged for more than four centuries. Since then, Pletnev has been an integral part of Lake Bled. And thanks to the picturesque surroundings and the island with a towering church above it, as if straight from the pages of a fairy tale book, Bled has long become widely known.

Then we will be happy to tell you about it. In some stores you can see how old experienced craftswomen make the finest lace, this work requires great patience and skill. Try the famous local Buranello biscuits and freshly caught fish in their restaurants. Here you will be surprised not only by the bright colors of the houses, but also by the fact that not only private fishing shuttles, but also swans and wild ducks float along small narrow channels.
