Arrival in Romania.
Moving to fabulous Transylvania.
Transylvania is a historical region of Romania in the northwest of the country. A huge mountain plateau resembling a horseshoe in shape, enclosed by a ridge of the Eastern and Southern Carpathians. This is a land of rocky peaks and gentle wooded slopes, orchards and vineyards, ancient castles and modest village houses, where for a guest in the basement there will certainly be a supply of strong slivovitz.
In our free time, we offer optional excursions of your choice:
The Cantacuzino Castle in Romania became very popular after the release of the hit TV series “Wednesday”, it was on the territory of this castle that the scenes that take place in Venezdey Adams at the Nevermore Academy were filmed. The Neo-Romanesque Cantacuzino Castle is located in the small town of Busten in the Romanian Carpathians. It is sometimes referred to as Zamora Castle due to its location in the geographic region of Zamora. The castle was built at the beginning of the 20th century by order of the influential Romanian statesman Gheorghe Grigor Cantacuzino, who was one of the richest people of his time in Romania.
Further along the route, Peles Castle will be waiting for us – the summer residence of the Romanian kings, combining Italian elegance and the aesthetics of the German neo-Renaissance. At first glance, it is hard to believe that this castle has 160 rooms. A tour of them will remind you of a small trip, there are rooms in Turkish, English, French and Spanish style.
here are forested mountains, overcast gothic churches and impregnable castles. The old city center is squeezed by mountains in a narrow valley; all the attributes of a medieval city have been preserved in it – these are houses with tiled roofs, narrow streets, and stunning views from the surrounding mountains. Surrounded by mountains, Brasov (previously also called Kronstadt) is one of the ten largest cities in Romania, but you can never say that more than 275 thousand people live here. Low-rise buildings, a large old center, cozy, paved squares – you involuntarily slow down and relax yourself.
Here you can find stores of famous local and European brands such as Zara, Bershka, Pull Bear, Aldo, InMedio, Intersport, etc.
How can you get to know the country and not try the cuisine! We invite you to a delicious evening in the Romanian style, where friendly hosts will treat us to national alcohol, tell us about the cuisine and, of course, treat us to delicious dishes!

Shrouded in mysticism and legends in the heart of the Carpathian mountains, medieval castles of incredible beauty hid. “Dracula’s Castle” The medieval castle of Bran, according to legend, is considered the residence of Count Dracula himself. A characteristic feature of this castle is that inside there are a huge number of intersecting labyrinths, corridors, spacious halls and small rooms. In the courtyard of the castle you can find an old well, which, according to ancient legends, is the only entrance to secret underground rooms.
Next we will visit Rasnov – a small town on the border between two historical regions – Wallachia and Transylvania. The population of the city is only 16 thousand people, and Ryshnov was founded in the 13th century. The beginning of the city was given by the construction of a fortress on top of a hill, around which a settlement was formed. The fortress was built by the knights of the Teutonic Order, it can be safely called “peasant” – the Teutons built it specifically for commoners so that they could take refuge in the fortress during long sieges. By the way, the Rasnov fortress has such a good location that it was captured only once – around 1600 by the Transylvanian prince Gabriel Bathory.

Romania is popular for its castles, the most famous of which is Dracula’s Castle in Bran. In recent years, it has become a real magnet for tourists due to the imposition of its commercial image associated with Count Dracula.
In 2005, the Romanian government passed a special law allowing claims for the restitution of property illegally confiscated by the Ceausescu regime. In 2006, the castle was handed over to the royal family, or rather the son of Princess Ileana – Dominic von Habsburg. In 2009, it was given to his sisters Maria-Magdalena Holzhausen and Elisabeth Sandhofer. In June 2009, the renovated castle was inaugurated in cooperation with the local authorities in Bran in order to preserve and promote Romanian tourism and improve the economic situation in the region.
Today, the castle is a private museum displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Mary. Every year, thousands of tourists visit Bran Castle to experience a real vampire, and they are not disappointed. According to official statistics, in 2019 Bran Castle is the most visited monument in Romania, reaching 1 million visitors. The castle has been restored several times. Surrounded by towers and fortifications, this “pesky little fortress,” as Queen Mary calls it, is a truly stunning castle, especially against the backdrop of beautiful panoramas where the Carpathians reign.
