Dzhurynsky waterfall is a miracle reservoir
Being next to the waterfall, you don’t hear a single word from your friend. Looking at the small and rather calm Djurin River, it is difficult to imagine that it will turn into such a powerful waterfall. Those who wish can bathe. The water is cool and pleasantly tickles the skin.
But in warm summer days, the waterfall turns into a real attraction. Along the river there are tents and entire campsites are equipped, food, souvenirs, even trampolines are sold here! And sometimes a line forms near the waterfall, so many people come to try the natural jacuzzi on their backs.
Interesting Facts
Local residents tell several legends about its origin. One of them is that the Djuryn River was once blocked by the Turks, who wanted to attack the Chervonogorod castle. Therefore, the river flowed along a new channel and formed this unique waterfall.
The second legend is that the movement of the river was adjusted on the orders of Mr. Poninsky, who was building the so-called Chervonograd palace (remains of this real medieval castle can be admired even today) in this beautiful place. However, all versions agree on the artificial origin of the waterfall. The waterfall in the middle is crossed by a hanging wooden bridge, on which you can feel like a fantasy hero, and also take unique photos.

Chervonogorodsky castle | Ternopil region
Chervonogorodsky castle | The place for the foundation of the fortification was chosen in the picturesque area of the Podilsk Mezhyhirya. Here the Juryn River flows in a valley surrounded by wooded hills. Flowing in the valley, the river forms an almost closed loop. In the center of this “loop” rises a high hill, and on it – Chervonogorod Castle. The river served as a good natural defense for the castle hill, as the channel, encircling the hill on three sides, created a serious obstacle in the way of the enemy.
